Location: 11/12 Warrington Place, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2
Duration: 12 month graduate traineeship with the prospect of progressing with Social Entrepreneurs Ireland on completion of the traineeship.
Hours: 35 hours per week

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland (SEI) is seeking to add an ambitious and dedicated Development Assistant to its team as a part of the For Purpose programme. This role will be based in SEI’s office in Dublin and will offer the trainee the chance to gain an in-depth understanding and direct experience of a range of fundraising activities within a not-for-profit organisation.

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland believes that Ireland’s social problems are not being solved quickly enough and that we need to develop new ideas to tackle our biggest challenges. To achieve this, SEI supports social entrepreneurs from start-up to scale-up. SEI provides them with mentoring, funding and access to a network of support to help them to significantly increase their impact in Ireland.
Over the last 14 years, SEI has invested over €7 million in 264 social entrepreneurs, providing over €2 million worth of non-financial supports along the way. In the last year alone, their projects have impacted the lives of over 1.7 million people across Ireland.
SEI remains entirely privately funded by a wide range of prominent entrepreneurs, business leaders and corporates in Ireland, the UK and the USA. SEI’s supporters enable the organisation to fulfil its aim of supporting people with new solutions to Ireland’s biggest social problems. In order for SEI to continue meeting this aim, the organisation is searching for a high-potential Development Assistant to add to its team to increase the support and investment opportunities for SEI.
Purpose of the Development Assistant role:
The Development Assistant will have an important role within SEI’s team and will support the planning and implementation of all of the organisation’s fundraising initiatives. Working closely with the CEO, the Development Manager and other key staff, the Development Assistant will take responsibility for a range of fundraising and development opportunities in SEI including leading on the delivery of The Ideas Fund, a specific support fund to back early stage ideas. The Development Assistant will also provide support on organising events and activities for SEI’s Leadership Circle, which connects social entrepreneurs with business leaders and previous SEI awardees.
In addition to working on these core areas, the Development Assistant will proactively identify and research new fundraising and support opportunities for SEI and they will play will a key role in developing and maintaining SEI’s relationship with its existing corporate and individual supporters.
