Role title: Finance Assistant

Location: 11/12 Warrington Place, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2

Duration: 12 month graduate traineeship with the prospect of progressing with Co-operative Housing Ireland

Hours: 35 hours per week

Remuneration: €25,000 per annum

Co-operative Housing Ireland is seeking to add an ambitious and dedicated Finance Assistant to its team as a part of the For Purpose programme. This role will be based in CHI’s office in Dublin and will offer the Assistant the chance to join one of Ireland’s leading approved housing bodies in the provision social housing bodies.

About Co-operative Housing Ireland:

Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national federation for the co-operative housing movement. Founded in 1973, CHI has supported the provision of homes across the country and promoted the development of affiliated local co-operative societies across Ireland. CHI works closely with various stakeholders in the housing sector, including Local Authorities, Government, aspiring homeowners, tenants and developers, to provide high quality social-rented and home ownership co-operative homes across the country. CHI is currently responsible for the management of more than 2,800 homes and has ambitious expansion plans in the coming years.


Definition of a co-operative: A co-operative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically-controlled enterprise.


Purpose of the Finance Assistant role: 

The Finance Assistant will work within CHI’s Finance Section and be responsible for monitoring, verifying, analysing and recording data relating the organisation’s finances and housing stock. The Financial Assistant will work closely with the Asset and Loan Finance Manager, preparing regular financial reports, financial summaries and other key materials that will support acquisition of housing assets and loans from various funding sources.

  • Third level qualification in I.T, Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Business with Finance (or equivalent)
