Role title: Digital Marketing & Fundraising Assistant  

Location: 1st Floor, 53-56 Cork St, Dublin 8, D08 X31R. Due to ongoing public health guidance, remote working will also form a part of this role. 

Duration: 12-month graduate traineeship with the prospect of progression within Irish Advocacy Network on completion of the traineeship. 

Hours: 35 hours per week  

Remuneration: 23,000 per annum

Irish Advocacy Network (IAN) is seeking to add a creative and ambitious Digital Marketing and Fundraising Assistant to their team as part of the For Purpose graduate programme. This role will be based in IAN’s office in Dublin and will also involve remote working. The role provides an opportunity to start your career in digital marketing and fundraising with a leading peer advocacy organisation representing people who experience mental health challenges.  


About Irish Advocacy Network:  

The IAN was established with the purpose of creating a representative voice for service users in the health system experiencing mental health challenges. Through the facilitation of service user empowerment, IAN supports people to speak up, speak out and regain control of their lives. IAN uses self-experience of mental/emotional health problems to help understand peers in their journey of recovery and help them to reclaim full citizenship. The organisation believes peer-advocacy has a unique role to play in accompanying citizens experiencing mental/emotional distress on this journey. 

After recently completing an organisation strategy, IAN is now looking to develop its capacity in digital marketing, communications and fundraisingTo help achieve this aim, IAN is seeking to add a capable Digital Marketing and Fundraising Assistant to its team.  

Digital Marketing and Fundraising Assistant:  

The Digital Marketing and Fundraising Assistant will have a diverse role within IAN. The graduate will play a key role in the implementation of IAN’s communications plan, which will include responsibilities such as developing and managing IAN’s social media presencecreating engaging and informative content, informing key stakeholders of relevant updates within IAN through mailouts/other platforms and regularly updating IAN’s website.  

The graduate will also work closely with the CEO in enabling IAN to reach its fundraising targets this year. This will include processing and acknowledging donations, keeping donors and prospects up to date on the impact of their donations, managing IAN’s customer-relationship management (CRM) system, assisting with grant applications and additional responsibilities.  

This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate with a degree in areas including digital marketing, communicationsmarketing practice or related background. We are searching for a creative and motivated individual to join IAN’s team and be a part of the For Purpose programme. The successful candidate will have the chance to make a real contribution to the organisation and develop their skills throughout the course of the traineeship.   

Do you fit the profile we are looking for?  

  • Third level qualification in digital marketing, communications, marketing practice or related areas 
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively  
  • Planning and analytical skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work on own initiative and also as part of a team
  • A high level of organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Creative and energetic 
  • Prior experience/knowledge of using Photoshop, WordPress, video editing tools and other communications/digital suites is highly desirable
  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours on occasion
  • Demonstrable interest in beginning a career in the nonprofit sector
  • Understanding and empathy towards mental health issues and those who experience them
  • Self-experience of mental health is desirable however not essential
