Neil has over 20 years’ experience in social housing, gained in both the UK and Ireland. He has served at Executive level for the past 11 years, the last 7 with Clúid Housing as their Operations Director and then the Property Director. Prior to moving to Ireland, he was a Customer Services Director for a large (9000+ homes) housing association based in south west England. Prior to that Neil worked at Senior Manager level for Bristol City Council, with responsibility for the planning and delivery of investment in Bristol’s 29,000 housing stock.

During his time working in social housing he has led on business transformation using ‘systems thinking’ methodology, strategy development and delivery across all housing operations. Neil has recently completed a 3 year term as a Director of the Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH).

Neil is a regular speaker at ICSH and Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) conferences and seminars on a range of social housing topics. He recently completed a 3 year period serving on the ICSH Board. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Neil left Clúid at the end of October 2017, establishing a consultancy to support organisational business transformation. Since establishing the company, Neil has worked with a number of AHBs and Local Authorities, developing strategies, supporting service improvement programmes, reviewing services, offering technical advice on proposed stock transfers and offering specialist organisational advice. He is currently involved in the development of the Performance Management Standard for the Housing Regulator.
